Preparation Before Installing Windows

Before starting the installation process, ensure you have backed up all important data. A clean install will erase existing data on your drive. Additionally, gather the necessary tools and files:

  • A USB flash drive with at least 8GB of storage
  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation media (downloadable from Microsoft’s website)
  • Product key (if required)
  • Drivers for your hardware, especially for the NZXT H7 Flow case and other peripherals

Creating a Bootable Windows Installation USB

Use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB drive:

  • Download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft’s official website.
  • Insert your USB drive into your computer.
  • Run the tool and select “Create installation media for another PC”.
  • Choose language, edition, and architecture (64-bit recommended).
  • Select your USB drive as the destination.

Installing Windows on Your Nzxt H7 Flow

With the bootable USB ready, proceed to install Windows:

Boot from USB

1. Turn off your Nzxt H7 Flow build.

2. Insert the bootable USB into a USB port.

3. Power on the system and immediately press the BIOS/UEFI access key (commonly F2, F12, DEL, or ESC).

4. Navigate to the boot menu and select your USB drive as the primary boot device.

Begin Windows Installation

1. Save BIOS settings and restart. The system should boot from the USB.

2. Follow on-screen prompts to select language, time, and keyboard preferences.

3. Click “Install Now”.

Partitioning and Formatting

1. When prompted, select the drive where Windows will be installed.

2. Delete existing partitions to perform a clean install. Be cautious as this erases data.

3. Create a new partition and format it if necessary.

4. Select the new partition and proceed with installation.

Completing the Installation

The system will copy files and restart several times. Follow the prompts to customize your settings, create a user account, and activate Windows.
